The Federal government says that despite the shortage of cholera vaccines globally, Nigeria has gotten the International Coordinating Group (ICG) approval for 3,566,628 doses of the oral Cholera vaccines.
The Executive Director National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Faisal Shuaib said this on Tuesday in Abuja at weekly media briefing on the COVID-19 vaccination roll out.
He said they have strategically mapped out and identified areas for deployment in the three States with the highest number of cases as a reactive campaign.
Dr. Faisal said the Country is not relenting in its fight against cholera outbreak working side by side with the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
He assured that they will continue to apply for more doses of the cholera vaccine and expressed belief that as these vaccines become readily available, Nigeria would get more doses.
