Reports by The Nigeria Center For Disease Control shows a rise in new cases of COVID-19, as the country reports 52 new cases in 48 hours, as fatalities from the virus stands at 3,142.
The Director General of NCDC who confirmed this to journalists in Abuja also notes that the country has also recorded 659 confirmed cases of Lassa Fever, warranting the activation of national Lassa fever Emergency centres, with multi-sectoral national Rapid Response Team, deployed to affected states
According to him till date, 255,296 covid 19 cases have been confirmed, 249,495 cases have been treated and discharged, as 3,142 deaths have also been recorded from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The 52 new cases are reported from 7 States, which include Lagos (23), Kwara (18), FCT (4), Kano (3), Rivers (2), Kaduna (1), and Plateau (1).
