Following the detection of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the Federal Government says it’s introducing the COVID-19 booster dose for all who have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib stated this on Thursday, at the flag-off ceremony of mass covid-19 vaccination for rural communities and internally displaced person camps in Abuja, where he announced that booster dose administration will commence from Friday the 10th of December
He also reiterated that the country’s COVID-19 vaccination programme is science-driven and that evidence abounds that the COVID-19 booster dose increases protection against the virus.
According to him, eligibility for the booster dose include people 18 years and above, those who have been fully vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna, or the Johnson and Johnson vaccines
