Nigerian Government To Expect More Doses Of COVID Vaccine

The Federal Government says it is expecting another batch of over 3.9 million doses of AstraZeneca Covid 19 Vaccine from the Covax facility in the month of July and August.

This is will be the second installment of the COVID vaccines distributed by the COVAX Facility in Conjunction with the Africa CDC

It has also said plans are also on to procure an additional 29.8million doses of the Johnson $ Johnson Covid 19 vaccine by September 2021.

This was revealed at the 15th Conference of the National Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria and Africa Regional Conference.

At the Conference the Executive Director Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Faisal Shuaib who was ably represented appeal for collaboration with the Association and all other stakeholders in accomplishing the enormous task of vaccinating all eligible Nigerians.

Chairman of the Occassion and Chief Executive Officer at Centre for Values in Leadership Prof Pat Utomi called on the Federal government to focus on education and the health care noting that when we have people who are well educated they provide solution to our world.

Meanwhile the National President and FCT President of the Association Dr. Matthew Ashikeni appealed for deliberate effort by the Federal government for supporting Health institutions for synergy and the multiple effect on the health of citizens.

Other dignitaries present were Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, FCT Minister Mohammed Bello and the Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Talen and others
