According to statistics, an estimated 72,000 Cancer deaths occur annually and 102,000 new cases are diagnosed from it’s population of two hundred million people in Nigeria.
The World Health Organization says cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10million death in 2020.
This explains why the W.H.O sets asides February the fourth every year as world Cancer Day.
The day is to creat awareness about this killer disease.
The theme for this year is “closing the care gap”, an appropriate theme that highlights the reason why the burden of cancer is high in the country.
